Dear Friends and Supporters,
Welcome to our first of many newsletters! It is hard to believe that we are already half way into 2021. There are a lot of exciting things happening here at Imhotep, LLC. As you may know, we are officially rebranding our name and evolving our vision.
In March, the data we found after completing 100 community assessments of children vulnerable to labor trafficking, completely broke our hearts but in the best kind of way. Today, we believe that every child deserves a chance at J.A.D.E.: joy, abundance, dreams, and most importantly - an education. And that’s exactly what our new strategy will strive towards, under our new name, Mission J.A.D.E.. We are using this information to re-shape our approach, into one that can make the biggest impact for these children and their families in the fight against the labor trafficking problem in Guatemala.
Removing barriers to education is key to preventing this crime, along with helping rural and indigenous families get their basic needs met.
This past April’s GlobalGiving Accelerator program helped us raise over $3,000 with over 50 donors. You took the time to donate to a campaign that is very important to our mission, and we want to take a second to say, thank you! Last week, the funds were disbursed and we are finally ready to serve. Using your generous donations, we have created our new program as an incentive for families to keep their children in school, and in exchange receive food boxes and educational support. Supporting these children to stay in school is exactly how we prevent this crime!
We look forward to sharing updates with you as the program progresses.
We invite you to join us as we continue the mission. There are four main ways to get involved.
