Help Us Prevent Labor Trafficking of 100 Indigenous Children

Did you know out of the 50,000 trafficked victims reported in Guatemala, 60% are children? Poverty is one of the main causes, leading children away from school and into hazardous work conditions. Indigenous children account for more than half of child laborers in Guatemala. Currently we are working to prevent this in rural areas of Chimaltenango with indigenous tribes who are being targeted by traffickers. Through our recent community assessment in March 2021, we have identified 100 Indigenous children Help us give hope to the communities we work with. Our mission is to prevent child labor trafficking in Guatemala by addressing barriers to education, providing programs to children engaged in hazardous work, and facilitating prevention education to primary schools and indigenous communities.

By donating today, you can help us continue to provide educational support to children who are vulnerable to being trafficked. Our plan to launch our pilot prevention education curriculum at an education center in Zone 3, is happening this summer and we need your help. Imhotep has been selected to participate in the GlobalGiving Accelerator Crowdfunding Campaign. Please help us raise $5,000 from April 5th-23rd so we can become a permanent GlobalGiving partner. To graduate from this program, we must raise at least $5,000 and secure 40 monthly donors.

Donations will give back directly to these families for educational support, and a 15lb produce box of vegetables, rice, beans and eggs. You can also choose to donate to our prevention education course by helping us train teachers and members of the community in Zone 3. With your contribution, we can holistically fight against the labor trafficking of children in Guatemala. #HolisticallyEndingTrafficking
